My Story
Hi, I'm Marie, founder of Marie Louise Hair,
I’m an independent hair stylist who is a specialist in Curly Hair and has been involved with the hairdressing industry 20+ years. I come from a family of hairdressers and have continually up skilled my expertise throughout my career always developing my love for hairdressing and people.
​
Whilst I love nothing more than spending time with my clients on the local high street, I also traveled for work, including as a stylist for the prestigious London Fashion Week, award winning photoshoots and one of the UK’s leading colour businesses.
I’m also a qualified educator and assessor and I’ve helped nearly 100 new hairdressers learn the trade that I’m so passionate about.
My goal is for you to leave the salon feeling empowered to style and embrace your hair. My attention to detail and listening skills will enable us to work together to create hair that makes you feel confident and the best version of you. My clients often describe having their hair done as a form of therapy and I couldn’t agree more.
I offer my clients a one-to-one service helping people to work with their beautiful hair not against it.

My Curls
My journey
Like many I struggle and didn’t enjoy my curls for years,
I fell out of love, the curls always felt frizzy, dry and no definition therefore I straightened it and bleached it for years. I never felt my curls were polished or acceptable enough for work or social and was never confident with them.
My curl journey began again when I decided enough was enough fighting it!I read lots of books, yes Books! Real paper copies, remembering online social can sometimes be entertainment rather than correct education, I have completed many courses with industry specialist to up-skill and educated all things waves,curls, coils and kinks.
I haven’t looked back since and as my curls changed, I changed, I became happier and more confident to handle my curls. Today I love my curls, I feel unique and enjoy learning new looks to enjoy and embrace the curly girl look.

First lets meet for a complementary consultation to discuss and look at your natural movement and look into your curly journey, I’ll help you to become confident with your curls. I’m here to advise and make sure you know everything you need to know about your waves, curls, kinks or coils a complementary consultation usually lasts around 15 minutes.

Curly Cut 1st Appointment
This service is suitable for those who wear, or wish to wear, their hair naturally curly most of the time and embracing the hairs natural texture and curl type. Included in this service:

This service is your chance to spend time with me to show you styling techniques that can help tame frizz, create volume and soften your curls. Included in this lesson I will wash and diffuse-dry your hair.

My environmental commitment.

I also genuinely care about the environment and reducing my carbon footprint. It’s a continual work in progress for the hair industry to make totally eco-friendly, but I am trying my hardest as a small business owner to make small changes that can make a big difference, I do my bit by upcycling and recycling whenever possible. I carefully select and partner with haircare suppliers with sustainable and ethical values, including [insert link to Davines]. I choose to use disposable towels that are bio-degradable, more hygienic and I am proud to be constantly looking for more suppliers to support myself in business to be more sustainable.
Cancelation Policy

Appointments cancelled on or before 48hours with be cancelled or rescheduled with no fee.
If less than 48hours notice is given this will mean you must pay in full before booking and being able to confirm future appointments.
If an appointment is missed or given less than 24hours notice you must pay in full before booking and being able to confirm future appointments.

Skin Test policy.
​
All clients requesting colour appointments need to be aged 16years+ and require a colour consultation to have a skin test 48 hours ahead of their colour appointment, this is a necessary precaution to ensure that you do not have an allergic reaction to the hair colour. The test only takes a few minutes to do and can be done when having a complementary colour consultation to decide on your hair colour and style. This is arranged by booking an appointment.
The test involves a small amount of colour being applied to you skin. It is quick and a simple process that can help prevent discomfort or adverse reactions.
This can be arranged by calling or drop by the salon and ask for Marie and we can arrange this.
